Friday, October 1st, 2021 - In this photo you can see our three beds with different cover crops planted in each bed. The back and front bed contain buckwheat which we planted because of its fast growth. In the middle bed we planted sun hemp and cowpea both for their nitrogen fixing properties. We used three different cover crops to compare growth rates and total mass grown. This photo was taken about a week and a half after planting the seeds so you can see they grow pretty quick. We just recently hoed in the only remaining crop we had which was the sunhemp, and it seems that it had the most mass grown.
