A couple weeks back we decided to plant some romaine seedlings into our bed lined with the tomatoes. We thought the tomatoes would help shade the romaine from the sun until the lettuce was able to establish its roots. The first week after, our romaine looked very nitrogen deficient. There wasn't much growth either so we decided to side-dress some 10-2-8 fertilizer. In this photo you can see that our romaine has bounced back!
