Oxalis

 Friday, November 19th, 2021 - One of the major challenges that we've experienced with managing our Incubator Farm thus far has been weed management. The dominant weed species that we have noticed is oxalis; you can see oxalis in these photos with its three-leaf, clover-like appearance. Our weed management strategies are primarily mechanical and cultural as we have not utilized any chemical herbicide sprays. We have been hand weeding oxalis, especially around our vegetable crops like the lettuce shown here, to reduce competition and weed pressure. Other than physically weeding, we have utilized cover crops, hay mulch, and ryegrass to attempt to suppress weeds in our plot.
