Wednesday, December 1st, 2021 - Happy December from Organic Chaos! We know that this time of the semester can get stressful with finishing up group projects and studying for exams, but at least we can look forward to a happy holiday break coming up soon! UF/IFAS Extension office of Alachua County recently announced that radishes are the plant of the month for December this year. We were able to conduct our first radish harvest today and these photos show the radish growth progress from November 10th (left photo) to December 1st (right photo). We've run into some challenges regarding competition between our intercropped vegetables and plant density in our radish bed, however, we are happy to harvest some decently sized radishes. These radishes are the Red Meat variety and they are delicious and festive.
Best of luck to everyone for finals week!
